If you're interested in helping plan them, email firstname.lastname@example.org! The next SPCH will be on June 1, 2019, the time TBA.

Hi everyone, it's Savanah! As I am updating the website, I realized that we didn't say anything about the Bridge Builders CHANGE applications are now live! There are five cohorts of this amazing youth-led organization: Gender and Sexuality (GAS), Educational and Youth Justice (EDYJ), The Memphis Youth Union (MemYu), and of course, Memphis Against Sexual Harassment & Assault (MASHA). This coming year, GAS is going to be working on creating safe spaces for LGBTQ+ youth, especially in under-represented communities. EDYJ is going to be working on creating a network of resources for youth which will include a text alert portion for all youth-led or youth-related events happening in Memphis or the Memphis areas. MemYu is working on changing Tennessee policy for their goal of extending voting rights to 16 and 17 year olds on local and state elections. MASHA is working on training youth and adult allies to lead advocacy campaigns in their schools/communities which align with sexual harassment and assault awareness. MASHA is also working on refining our sexual misconduct policy to become as inclusive and intersectional as possible before we present it to the Shelby County School Board in late November of 2018. If you are passionate about any of these social justice issues, please go apply to be a fellow for Bridge Builders CHANGE at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSflEr_YWLsrz2XybF7yC42OaIdvGmYFtg2Tq_iGnFljSwR_zg/viewform
